Aaron Schat

Aaron Schat is Associate Dean of the DeGroote School of Business, and Associate Professor of Human Resources & Management at McMaster University, having received his training in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.  His research interests generally relate to work-related stress and well-being, with a primary focus on investigating the nature, antecedents, and consequences of aggressive/mistreatment behaviour at work. This includes studying how workers in customer service roles experience and respond to mistreatment from customers, given the unique dynamics that exist in service interactions (e.g., the notion that “the customer is always right”).
